Reign Redmond, a junior at Carson High, edged Brazil Neal of Gardena Serra by a wind-aided 11.56 to 11.57 margin to capture the girls 100-meter title at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif. Redmond led all qualifiers in the 200 by running 23.86 in the prelims, but decided not to compete in the final.
